IN ANSWER to L King's question (Letters, January 28): why should a few Swindon residents pay for the incompetence of Swindon Council? We all pay the price for our disastrous council, every single one of us who resides in this borough. Even if it doubles, the residents parking charge is only about 50p per week. What L King and others should concentrate on is the bigger picture of inefficiency and scandalous waste of taxpayers' money, for which this council seems intent on achieving its only `excellent' grading in the next round of government assessments!   more...
